Gravity space novel author sues over Alfonso Cuarón's Oscar-winning film

(original idea from www.theguardian.com)

Tess Gerritsen is the author of a novel titled Gravity (1999) about a disaster in space and she is suing the makers of the Oscar-winning film which shares its name for $10 millions of dollars and get a part on the credits
Alfonso Cuarón's drama won seven Academy awards in March, including best director, but now prolific American writer, Tess Gerritsen, whose novel is also about a female astronaut trapped in space, wants what she believes is her cut.
Gerritsen is asking for $10m plus damages from studio Warner Bros, which backed the $716m box-office smash. She also wants a "based on the book by Tess Gerritsen" credit.
A blog suggests Gerritsen previously distanced her novel from Cuarón's film, and some plot details do appear to differ. The central character, according to the author's own website, is a brilliant research physician sent to the international space station in order to study living beings in space.
The author lawsuit said that Gerritsen have a optioned book in 1999, that includes scenes very siimilar to the movie directed by Alfonso Cuarón.
Cuarón and Warner Bros have yet to make a public comment on Gerritsen's suit.

The Notebook

Since I have memory I always liked to watch movies, a lot of movies. So it’s been hard for me to define my one and only favourite movie of all times.
But today I decided to talk about a movie that I really like, and it’s the only romantic movie that I can watch a lot of times and won't get sick of it (and don’t make me cry like a lot of my friends).

The Notebook is a movie based in a novel of Nicholas Sparks (who has other novels that became movies too) is a love story that one old man tell to an old lady in a asylum, so the story happen as a flashback.

The old man tells us about Allie and Noah, a couple in the 40’s of different social classes, how they fall in love and are forced to be separated by Allie's parents.

In the years that they spend apart they do a lot of stuff. Noah goes to the war and Allie get engaged with a guy that her family loves. But finally they end up together.

Finally we can see that the old couple in the asylum is having dinner and the lady remembers: the story is about them, they’re Noah and Allie. She has alzheimer and most of the time doesn’t remember anything, but thanks to Noah, some days she can remember the great love story that they share.

My dream job

I don’t really know where I would like to work when I get to be officially a journalist. Maybe it is because I haven’t thought it very much during my years in college.

Of course that I would love to travel a lot, like probably the most of my classmates and journalists in general, but I think that according to the life that I want to live (have house,  family and that stuff) it’s something that, if I really want to do, I should do as young as I possible.

Besides that, I think that I would like to work in something related to the T.V, maybe in the team of production of a TV show o if there is a chance, be a TV host, but it isn’t something that bothers or worry a lot right now.

Probably I will find my way in this profession by doing a lot of things. Trying in different roles and ending up finding what my dream job, for the moment I’m not worried for that.

My favorite dish

Since I remember I love potatos. I love them in almost every way, but what I really love with all my heart and soul are the french fries.

I absolutely love them. With mayonnaise, ketchup, only salted, I really don't care. They're just perfect to combine with almost everything. With fish, beef, chicken, with a cheese burger, even if you only eat fries and nothing else.

If you’re going to talk about “mass produced” fries, I think that the best ones are from McDonalds and Johnny Rockets, but the fries from Juan Maestro are really good too. But we can’t forget about the homemade fries, the ones that you peel, cut and fry yourself, were you can taste the love in every single bite.
There are a lot of people that compares french fries with packaged chips –like Lays or Pringles- and I always think that they’re so, so mistaken comparing things that are deeply different.

As you can see, I’m very emphatic about fries: I love them, and I invite everyone to eat fries and don’t worry about the fat or the calories and just enjoy that wonderful taste.

London Calling

Today I’m going to talk about a country that I’d like to visit and before I start it was really difficult to decide only one country, because I really want –and expect- to travel a lot in my life. But if I had to decide right now to go somewhere that I never visited before I think I’d pick England.

First, and one of the most important reasons to me, it’s the homeland of one of the greateast bands ever: The Beatles (I think that it’s not necessary to explain more my first reason). Also I think that is an interesting country, with a lot of different people and atracctions, it’s multicultural and diverse.

England is a country with a lot of history and I really like to have a lot of time to embrace the culture and visit a lot of cities to get really involved with all of the environment.

London is the city that I’m more excited to know. The architecture, the musseum, the fashion, the music, the food –specially the famous fish and chips- and all of the things that we automatic relate with only say the word London.

Finally, as I’ll be in Europe I’d would like to visit other countries like France, Italy, Spain, Germany and all the places that I want.
