Hello everyone. Today I’m going to talk about my blogging experience in this semester.

In the past I had blogs but I never make a lot of entries because I’m a little shy when is it about writing of myself, so I never last much writing my own and personal blogs.

But with the english class I had to write every week about something new, and most of the times it was about things that I like, so it wasn’t hard for me to do it. What I liked the most was find pictures and photos to my publications, so I think that maybe I’m going to start a tumblr page of something like that, because I really like to search pictures of my favorite artists, movies, and movie stars too.

I think that write this kind of things help me to improve my english, because I had to write the things that came to my head in that moment, so it is a really good exercise to my english part of the brain jaja

Related to this I maybe start to look english blogs about fashion, movies and music, or themes that I want to read more, because I think that the habit of reading in english is very useful to learn more every time.

Lulu

My dog is the best in the world. She’s ten years old and arrive to my home when she was only one month. Her name is Lulu and she is a “kiltro” (chilean name for dogs that have a mix of races).
She is my responsability. I have to bathe her, feed her, and take care of the needs that she may have. But also she is my friend. We always take naps together, she is with me when I’m sad or feel lonely, she make me laugh too because she’s very funny, sociable and special.
She is my pet, my dog, my friend, my confident and I really love her. Now she has ten years old and don’t have the same energy and don’t like to play with her toys as she did years ago, she get tired and enjoys to be alone sometimes, but she still love to be around when I’m doing anything in my house, and she sleeps with me in the morning on the weekends, because she still the same little and sleepy dog that I choose to be my family.

Movies

Today I have to talk about movies and at first I thought it is going to be really easy because I love to watch movies.

When I was little I was obsessed with the Sleeping Beauty, I rented it every weekend and watched it in spanish and french. Then I grow up and expanded my taste with movies.

In this days I have several favorite movies. One of them is The Shining (1980), based on the novel by Stephen King, directed by Stanley Kubrik and starred by Jack Nicholson. It’s a psychological horror movie. I don’t really like horror movies but the thing that I love about The Shining is that is not necessary put a lot of especial effects and other stuff to make a great movie.

Another movie that I like is The Godfather (1972) based in a novel of Mario Puzo. This movie is really interesting and, although it’s very long, it maintains you entertained all the time.

This two movies are classics of the cinema, but I really like another kind of movies. One of my favorites is A lot like love (2005), starred by Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet. Also I like very much Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), stared by Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet and last but not least I really love the movie Like Crazy (2011) starred by Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones

Revista Paula

I almost never read magazines on paper, I prefer the websites and now are a lot of options that and you can choose even the subject of the magazines that you want to read in every moment of your life. I only bought magazines in the summer, when I go to the beach,

because I really enjoy reading Cosmopolitan magazine while I’m resting. 

But today I’m going to talk about one Chilean magazine’s website, Revista Paula (http://www.paula.cl/). I read this magazine since I’m little, and I always liked that mixes fashion articles, photo shoots, interviews and interesting themes.

As a journalist one of the things that I like the most are the journalists reports, because they approach to things that you don’t see every time in the media. Sometimes they do articles that I don’t like, but I can remember a few that I really liked and still remember and reread once in a while.

An aspect that I think is remarkable about the magazine is that the contents are online, obviously not ALL the contents that they put in the edition, but the articles at least are in the website and you can easily find them.

I love music

I always loved music. When I was little I remember that my mom every weekend cooked and do the house cleaning listening music of different artists. In that time we have a lot of cassetes that we bought or recorded, so when I played with my toys and my mom was cooking I get used to be accompanied with music.

Then I was discovering my own taste of music, but I think that obviously it was inspired in the music that we listened when I was little.

I really love The Beatles, I think that is one of the best bands ever, they’re like esencial in every playlist that I make, irreplaceable. 

The Beatles were the foundation and I started to define my musical taste. I like classic bands like Queen and artists like Bob Dylan. I also listen and love very much some rock bands and artists from Argentina. I love Gustavo Cerati’s music, Soda Stereo, Andres Calamaro, Spinetta, Charly Garcia and Babasonicos.

Pictures

This picture was taken in Bolivia, in the cementery of trains in Colchani.

I travel with my friends in the summer to Peru and Bolivia and we visit a lot of beautiful places. In that opportunity we were in the tour to visit the Uyuni Salar.

We started in Potosi and we take a bus to arrive to Uyuni, a little town. We spend one night in a hostel in Uyuni and in the next morning we left the town in the truck of the tour. The first stop was in Colchani, the town of salt. In this place we visit a museum that had statues made only with salt and we bought souvenirs. I bought a little box made of salt to my grandma and if you taste it, it was salty.

The next stop was in the cementery of trains. There was two trains completely abandoned and rusted. We take a lot of pictures in this place, in this picture we climb to the roof of the train and asked to another Chileans to take pictures of the whole group.

After that we made our last stop, in the Uyuni Salar and it was one of the most beautiful places that I ever seen. It was a little bit flooded and the sky reflected in the water. It was wonderful.

TV series

Since I was in school I watch TV series, I really like them. At first I watch every episode each week, and I waited really anxious for the next one. Now I watch series on the internet, the day after from the premier of each episode and sometimes when I don't have much time I watch 2 or 3 episodes on the same day.

My first TV series were The O.C and Friends, I watch them on Warner Channel. Then I started to watch The Gilmore Girls. Unfortunately every one of them finished and I was sad and lonely without my great and wonderful TV series.

After that I started watching Grey’s Anatomy and I never get bored because every episode is different and exciting. In a few days the season 10 will start and I’m counting every second. Also I watch How I Met Your Mother and New Girl, and like a month ago I started watching Breaking Bad and it really like me, because is like no other TV series that I ever watched.

Technology

Today I have to talk about my favorite piece of technology and I don't know for sure what of the devices that I use constantly I could denominate my favorite.
I think that maybe it's about novelty.
When  my computer was new I really love it, I was like seriously in love with it. It was fast and shiny, but in two years technology leave it behind. Now I can't wait to change it. I still have kind of affection for it, but it's not the same.
With my cell phone was similar. I have a cell phone that I love, it was my first device that was able to connect to the internet, but after that was the same. Technology move on so quickly that I wanted another cell that allowed me do more and more things. Now I have a new cell phone and I really like it, but I think that sooner than later technology is gonna leave it behind, and that novelty is going to dissapear.

Expectations or reality

I always tend to expect too much in so many levels in my life, but I don't think that's wrong.
For this semester I want to be great at college, because I always get good grades, but last semester was a little bit complicated, because we have to finish the first semester in two stressful weeks.
Also I want to learn a lot, because we have one class of Radio and one of Television and it's a whole new experience, but is really fun to learn new stuff about the field that you want to explore once you're a professional.
I hope to have a great semester and I realize that is in my hands that thing's happen as I want to.-

I love potatos

My name is Muriel, I live in Ñuñoa and I study journalism.

I really like animals, specially dogs.

I don't know in wich part of journalism I want to develop when I finish college, but until now I think that I would like to work on television.

I enjoy to hang out with my friends and visit different places, I like to travel. The last summer I went to Peru and Bolivia for like a month. After that I know that I want to visit many places around the world.

My favorite food are french fries, but I love potatos in general. I love music. I like to read books and magazines and I enjoy to watch T.V, especially my favorite serie, Friends.-
